Onboarding specialists are more focused on empowering an organization to become proficient in the setup, configuration, use, and maintenance of a tool. They guide. An Implementation specialist is focused on getting an organization into and using a tool, even if that means they do the setup ‘behind the scenes’. They do.
Depending on the tool and the organization both roles might be needed.
