I’m not sure why the task type (Regular Type) is grayed out in your screenshot - I played with a few parts of a task in one of my projects to see if I could get mine to gray out and I could not.

But that’s not where you indicate whether a task is internal or external. The choices if that weren’t grayed out include Regular Task, Participant Task, and Event Task.

To make a task Internal, look down below where your screenshot ends. A couple of lines below the Dependency section you will see Responsibility. In the Responsibility dropdown you can choose Internal, Customer, or Third Party. Setting the responsibility to Internal will make it an internal task.
